Q & A

Cannon Soldier & DNA Surgery (4/30/2003)

1) I summon 'Cannon Soldier' on the field, and then afterwards I activate the Magic Card
'Scapegoat'. Can I sacrifice all my 'Scapegoat' tokens for Cannon Soldier's effect in one turn?

2)Situation: Player #1 activates the Trap Card 'DNA Surgery' and sets it to 'Dragon'. When control
goes to Player #2, Player #2 activates his 'DNA Surgery' and sets it to 'Warrior'.

Question: Does Player #1's 'DNA Surgery' get replaced, and if so, does his Trap Card go to the graveyard?

Answer:
1. Yes.
2. This card vs. another D.N.A. Surgery: If you and your opponent both play this card,
the later one's effect takes priority. If the later one is destroyed, the first one is applied.

Parasite Paracide (4/02/2003)

Situation:
I set 'Parasite Paracide' in face-down defense position (it's the only monster
I have on the field) and end my turn. My opponent draws his card,
sets 'Harpie's Brother' in face-up attack position, and attacks my 'Parasite
Paracide' with 'Harpie's Brother'.

Question:
Does the flip effect of 'Parasite Paracide' activate, or is it destroyed
and sent to the graveyard because its defense is weak against 'Harpie's
Brother'?

Answer:
It goes to the graveyard.

Shallow Grave & Cyber Jar (3/28/2003)

1) If I use the Magic card 'Shallow Grave', can I flip summon the monster after
I place it face down on the field?

2) Situation: It's my main phase, and I flip summon the monster 'Cyber Jar'.
After destorying all the monsters on the field (including Cyber Jar), I
automatically set 'Man-Eater Bug' and 'Trap Master' in face-down defense
position, and Gearfried the Iron Knight in face-up attack position from the
five-card pick up. My opponent has one monster in face-down defense position
and a trap card on the field from the previous turn.

Question: After the effect of 'Cyber Jar' is over, can I flip summon 'Man-Eater
Bug' & 'Trap Master' to clear his side of the field and then attack with all
three monsters?

Answer:
1. Not the same turn it is placed on the field, no.
2. Not that same turn, no.

Trap Master & Witch of the Black Forest (01/17/2003)

1) I flip summon 'Trap Master', select 1 of my opponent's face-down cards and
it's not a trap but a magic card. I know that if it's a magic card, it's not
activated or destroyed. Now, my opponent tells me that if the card I selected
on his side of the field was not a trap card, then I have to destroy one of my
own trap cards that I placed on the field to satisfy the effect of Trap Master.
Is this true?

2) If the effect of 'Witch of the Black Forest' is activated, and I search my deck
for a monster with a defense of 1500 or less, do I have to show the monster card
to my opponent before I put it into my hand?

Answer:
1. Incorrect. If you pick a card and it's not a trap, nothing happens.
2. Yes.

Enchanted Javelin (12/20/2002)

What does "Enchanted Javelin" do?

Answer:
This is a trap card - it must be played from your hand face down on your turn and
be set for the rest of that turn before you can reveal it. You can only reveal this
set trap during your opponent's battle phase when one of their monsters attacks. You
gain life equal to the monster's current ATK. This card has no effect on how combat
would then normally resolve, it doesn't stop or negate the attack. If you had no
monsters to block the attack and/or couldn't reveal another magic or trap card to
stop/negate/reduce the attack, you would loose all life you had just gained. You
may not reveal this card against an attacking Dragon Type monster if either player
controls a face up "Lord of D".
